Webinar – 23 July 2025
The Australian Cardijn Institute (ACI) invites you to a vital and timely webinar exploring the life, mission, and continuing relevance of the Young Christian Workers (YCW) movement in Australia today. This event marks the centenary of the movement’s founding by Cardinal Joseph Cardijn in Belgium in 1925—a movement that has formed generations of young people to respond to the realities of their lives through faith and action.

About the Webinar
This special event features reflections from current Australian YCW leaders who participated in the international centenary celebrations in Belgium. They will share how the movement continues to equip young people to see clearly, judge wisely, and act justly in response to the challenges they face.
A Movement for Our Time
As we witness the convergence of global crises—climate change, the genocide in Gaza, the widening US/Israel war on Iran, the ongoing war in Ukraine, armed conflict in Sudan, and the erosion of democratic institutions—it is more important than ever to support movements that promote global solidarity, social justice, and peace.
The YCW’s mission to form young leaders committed to the dignity of labour, solidarity with the oppressed, and transformation of unjust structures is deeply relevant today. Rooted in the See–Judge–Act method, YCW provides the tools for critical engagement and collective action grounded in Gospel values.
